AlexGlobal Products
Sr. Product Development Manager- 2021-2022
Director of Product Development - 2016-2020

Alex Global Products (AGP) was reformed from the old Alex Toys in 2020. I joined in 2021 to help Alex Global Products refresh their product lines for a new company. I manage several lines including Scientific Explorer, Ideal Games, Poof Sports, and Backyard Safari. Outside of my listed responsibilities I help AGP with plastic engineering and molding, product safety, package design, and concept generation. AGP recognized I have a wide array of skills I have acquired over my 20 years in the toy industry and I use them all to help revitalize a global, world class, product portfolio.

Amloid Corporation

I joined Amloid in the summer of 2016 to bring their product development in house. I directed their new Tonka line of Jr construction blocks to a successful launch. I also expanded the evergreen summer beach toy line with some designs that brought a new look to the market. Throughout my time with Amloid I have learned a lot about injection molding and designing parts for tooling, and product engineering so my designs can be easily produced at cost. Working with some outside vendors I managed, designed, engineered, and directed the entire toy line at Amloid.

SRM Entertainment / Idea Lab
Director of Product Development - 2008-2014

As director I sought out under the radar license opportunities that were trending up. One of the licenses I discovered lead to our TOTY Nominated and TTP Magazine Award Winning Cake Pops By Bakerella Cake Pops Set.  With the Cake Pops by Bakerella Cake Pops Set, SRM Entertainment entered into a new toy category for the first time in over 10 years.

Sr. Designer Boys Role Play - 2006-2008

After 2 years, I took over SRM’s flagship toy category of Boys Role Play.  As the Sr. Designer I directed a new package direction for the brands of the line as well as created some additional products that are still sold today.  Realizing that the market for realistic weapons was shrinking, we licensed the FBI for a line of spy items to expand our footprint.  I wanted to create a line that felt realistic, and used some new technology that had never been in the toy aisle.

Sr. Designer Licensed Light Up - 2004-2006

SRM Entertainment had pioneered the category of light up novelty toys and I was hired to expand on the line.  Working closely with the inventor community to research new light technology I designed additional light items that expanded our mass toy and OEM lines. I designed light chasers for Scooby Doo, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, and Disney that blended their character art with our product. As a fan of the licenses I was able to create a unique experience for each brand that was true to their IP.

Amscan
Category Manager / Product Designer - 2003-2004

Working as a contract employee I designed gifts and novelties for the largest party supply manufacturer in the US. Working on their non holiday lines I was able to create a package design for their Over the Hill line that is still being used today.
